Mat-su Animal Shelter volunteers care for our animals by giving them affection, training and exercise.  Opportunities to participate in community events and assist shelter staff with special projects are also available.

Do you have some free time to share?

To become a volunteer you need to complete and submit the volunteer application, attend a 1 hour orientation and a 6 hour training session. They are both offered once a month. At the Orientation, you will be given the training date.

To become part of our volunteer team, please fill out an application and return the completed form to the Mat-Su Animal Care and Regulation Center. You will be contacted for further training based on the shelter’s needs and the information you provide.
